Individual Social Learning Sessions

Individual sessions will allow the client to learn and develop targeted social skills that promote success in groups and other settings within their life, including self-regulation, verbal and non verbal communication, and self-awareness.

Predetermined goals for the individual sessions will be established through the in-take assessment.

The in-take assessment consists of three different parts:

  • Student interview and team observation (student in-person)
  • Parent Questionnaire
  • Written report

Features:

  • Meets weekly for a 60 minute session; 45 minutes of the session is with the client, and 15 minutes is a parent consultation to discuss current progress
  • Sessions can be scheduled once an assessment plan is administered and a plan is created for the individual client.

“Elizabeth genuinely cares about her students, their families, and their future goals as they transition into adulthood, and has a tremendous amount of knowledge working with individuals who struggle with social skills. She builds a connection and mutual trust with her students and for students who can struggle significantly with social skills that is not always an easy task.

Elizabeth has a great understanding of individual’s strengths and weaknesses and has an ability to build up an individual’s weakness areas using techniques that make the unknown seem less scary for the individual. She is an integral part of a team that can help an individual with disabilities be successful as they transition into adulthood and increased independence.”
